Regional Plans
The Central Highlands Natural Resource Management Plan (1Mb)
Completed in December 2003, the Central Highlands Natural Resource Management Plan was written with extensive participation and input from the community and local farmers.
The Plan lists natural resources that the Central Highlands community want to maintain and manage in the areas of;
- Land Use (Grazing, Dryland & Irrigated Cropping, Forest, Mining, National Parks
& Urban)
- Biodiversity (Animals & plants)
- River Health & Water Quality
- Cultural Heritage
- Sustainable Communities

FBA Strategy for Sustainability
The Central Queensland Strategy for Sustainability – 2004 and Beyond (CQSS2) is the regional plan for the management of the natural resources and environments of the river catchments of the Central Queensland region. The plan seeks to protect the region’s assets through addressing key pressures. The CQSS2 has been developed by the people of Central Queensland through the Fitzroy Basin Association (FBA).
